Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), also called Indian Ginseng or White Ginseng, is native to India. Its root has been used for around 4000 years in Ayurvedic medicine practices. It is also part of the 'rasayanas', the highest class of plants used in Ayurveda.

The use of Ashwagandha roots is common in herbalism today. It is part of the family of adaptogenic plants and naturally contains glycowithanolides, active ingredients characteristic of the plant, sought after for their properties. We also find in the roots of Ashwagandha anferine, somniferine, somnine, potassium, iron and some fatty acids.

Prepare this beautiful infusion

1/2 teaspoon mixed with hot milk once a day or as an infusion using one teaspoon of root in 250ml of hot water. It is delicious.
